Reform of Life Imprisonment in Lithuania

چکیده
This article discusses the 2019 reform of criminal laws, providing for possibility releasing persons sentenced to life imprisonment. The legislator, establishing model punishment substitution instead parole, chose a sufficiently strict regulation, and although he declared otherwise, did not really dare go beyond as retribution extremely serious crimes. In addition historical development imprisonment aspects theory punishment, work also focuses on individual release criteria; at end, possible directions are briefly defined.
